I was blessed to attend a 2-day guitar workshop that he did as part of O'Flaherty's Irish Music Retreat here in North Texas 2 years ago. Wow!!! Before that I was He & Liz's EmCee at the North Texas Irish Festival. They were very nice. I asked him to play Sovay, and they played it for me! Hadn't even planned on it, so he had to quickly show it to Liz on fiddle... John's brilliant!!! Oh yeah, seen him live with Solas many years before...
