You then judge those people I stand for as unable to repent and learn. @marianopicco U and I may never 100% agree on this, and that's FINE! Im not trying to preach to U to "convert" or anything. I really HAVE enjoyed the debate quite frankly! But, I feel that you may be missing something in your life as evidenced by your poor outlook on "man" in general. God's judgements aren't "open" for all 2 see. They come to everyone differently. Guilt and troubled conscience is one way.

God's laws need to be followed so that man can live together in peace. Whether U R religious or not, you CAN see the perfection in the 10 Commandments? Why practice religion, when we make mistakes anyway? Do you give up on math because you flunk a test? Every day is a "test" of rightiousness!

@marianopicco The Catholic Church DOES have a tainted history, but I wouldnt say corrupt from "inception" (early Caths. were persecuted tremendously! Romans-LIONS!). As you ref. MANY of man's religions have done some questionable things in the past. A LOT of the egregious stuff happened pre-enlightenment, when society itself was a mess! BUT, do you throw out the good things they do with the bad? Ever heard the baby & the bath water analogy? I'm Catholic. Is my church "perfect", no! Only God is!

@marianopicco I cannot speak for the Quran, but I understand that it does call for the murder of the "infidel". I don't recall reading similar things in the New Testament.

Also, you are confusing the actions of "God" in the bible "stories" you referenced with "religion" again. Besides, that's Old Testament, "fire & brimstone" stuff, when man was wondering around worshiping rediculous/multiple gods. You really should get with the times. Besides, I don't take the bible "literally". It's a lesson.

@PJS50 Explain to me why any people follow the catholic church, for example. Corrupt probably from it's inception, it has always been in the midst of conflict and taking sides, many times funding their side and by extension generating violence and death. The protestant churches are not that different specially the church of England which was started just so a king could trade his old wife for a new one!

@PJS50 I never implied atheists don't make mistakes, that's a far fetched conclusion you drew from who knows where.

Are judges perfect? no, nobody is, yet they judge. We came up with judges cos it seems "god's judgement" is sort of vague and slow, if non existent at all.

But my whole point is why are people practicing a religion in which they break most of it's important rules every day? Lie, cheat, disrespect fathers and mothers, greed, not respecting your neighbors... come on.
