The News Guys, Let us be the One and 8's the Place were the great promos created by the one and only Carl Bartholomew, i.e. "Uncle Zeb." (I worked for him before 8's the Place) and he set the bar so high for local television promotional videos that nobody has come close to that level of creativity.

I remember a Promo for Don Woods where he walks into an Italian restaurant.. It's sunny and crowded and the Maitre D finds him a table... then he's back on a rainy day and restaurant is empty and the same guy has "difficulty" finding him a table. Does anyone have a copy of this?

This promo brings me back alot memories when i was kid back during 1970s in Oklahoma KTUL during those day No ipod or xbox PC havent been invented yet during those days the option was Outdoor Tv Annetena and primitive TV sets with knobs and the one you have get up and change channle by hand no remote back then! Its sad there are no live shows on Ktul like John Chick and Uncle Zeb i grew up watching them and i missed those days!

Let Us Be The One was the 1976-77 campaign for ABC...so there's a quandry.

Hard to believe that Barbara Allen was an anchor in 1976. She would later join WRC-TV Washington and WFSB-TV Hartford, CT.

This promo is from '78 or '79. The female anchor for KTUL in '76 and '77 was Susan Silver. The anchor in this promo is Barbara Allen.

KTUL is always changing. Recently they celebrated 50 years on TV, and now it's News Channel 8.
KTUL kicked ass back then! It was like they could do no wrong in their news, their local shows, their promos. No broadcast media in Tulsa has compared since. 8's the Place!

The greatness of KTUL. This was back in the days of "The News Guys" and it was a heavily promoted campaign. In those days, 8 was number one in Tulsa.
