Not only can the ultraviolet radiation from indoor tanning beds cause premature aging, it also increases the risk of skin cancer, including melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. Indoor tanning before the age of 35 has been associated with a significant increase in the risk of melanoma, and recently sunbeds (UV tanning beds) were moved up to the highest cancer risk category—group 1—carcinogenic to humans by the World Health Organizations International Agency for Research on Cancer.

I'm white. I have pale skin. I have no problem with my skin colour other than I am prone to sunburn. I use sunscreen religiously. I do not tan. Some people do feel compelled to tell me that I should tan. There is an attitude that pale people look "unhealthy" and that tanned people look "healthy." I don't agree with this. just a small rant

oh!
so it turns out that frying yourself in a microwave to get that nice medium rare look is bad for you.
who knew!
im always suspicious of drugs that make pain "go away", and machines that change my race in half an hour.
and if you are white -which im not- why would you want to be darker, anyhow?
((by the way the Sun's UV is just as harmful as artificial UV))

I sent this to all my girlfriends! I stopped indoor tanning for good 3 years ago after having 2 skin cancers removed in just 6 months! I jusst hope teens are getting it too.

This is so true! It is unfortunate that so many of us in our quest for beauty sacrafice our health. Pass it on!!
