Hello everyone!

This is my version of the Morrowind main theme "Nerevar Rising". I used SongeLeReveurs arrangement (found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXHkG5G5qH8 ) as the starting point for this project. I changed some parts, and built onto it with a brass section etc. (And that brass section was HELL to get just right. GEEZ!)
Songe's arrangement is of the kind that brings tears to my eyes because of the sheer beauty of it, so I highly recommend you check it out.

I chose to do the video like this instead of showing me singing. I should have done the same thing with many of my other videos too, like "Mot Lyset".
There is no place for faces in tracks like that (and this) in my opinion.

Also, I am aware that the vocals could have been tighter ~ but I choose to leave the flaws in there. I kinda like them actually. :3

Hope you enjoyed it!

  • Your voice and overall musical talent is great, so dont be offended by my suggestion, but Maybe try using an "ah ahaaaahhh', or "oh ohhoooohhh", instead of "Da Dadaaaa" :) might sound more mideival in execution...

  • @Soulfree2008 If I could choose freely, I would hum with a closed mouth from 0:10 - 0:22, then "aaah" from 0:22 - 0:39. For the rest, I'd prefer to have a full choir (15-20 people perhaps) with lyrics - then a closed mouth hum again at the end. ( 1:38 )

But I came to the conclusion that I shouldn't think too much about it. After all, it's a minor thing I'm doing on my own. ^^

  • First Nerevar Rising I here with actual voices. Nice ! :D

  • @SongeLeReveur I would prefer to use an actual choir, but I guess I had to settle for my own voice. ^^

Thanks for the comment, and keep up the good work man!

  • I cant believe how metal the elder scrolls is :D

  • Epic =]

  • very talented dude

  • That was just insanely cool! A great performance that sure made me want to play Skyrim! :)

And you're right, there is no place for faces in tracs like these, as a mere face seems too mortal to bring honour to the song! Stay Metal!

  • Haha I still play this game :D

  • I loved this. Not only being a huge fan of Morrowind, and Elder Scrolls in general, but I always like this song. I have to say you nailed it man.

  • <3 Elder Scrolls!

  • @Blixish hmm, perhaps you could 'fake' a choir sound using multiple tracks of your voice with maybe some pitch shifting or just singing the notes in different pitches... just some thoughts. Alas, keep up the great work and rock out with your cock out my friend!! :D

  • Wow! Awesome work man!! I really like the vocal layering! Never heard this song before now, I should mention :P
