Obama's Russian challenge - 10 Nov 08

One of the first challenges abroad that Barack Obama may have to deal with is his predecessor's plans for a missile defence system in Eastern Europe. The US relationship with Russia has become more and more fractious in recent months - one of the flashpoints is that missile system. In fact, Obama had only just made his victory speech in Chicago, when the Russian President increased pressure on the President-elect. The US wants a shield to stop incoming ballistic missiles from what it calls "rogue states" - such as Iran. But Russia says the plan threatens its own defences. So what is the US planning to do exactly? Al Jazeera's Neave Barker reports.
