O.K. i looked into it...Snopes.com says the original was actually in 1974 and the man,deer,dog weren't found so they don't know if the original call was even a prank.it's still hilarious.

The actual occurrence happened in the early 80’s in upstate New York and is not even close to this recording of the fictitious “Joe” idiot. This recording sounds like an uneducated and far from funny Jerk attempting to gain some notoriety off the original story. Whoever made this recording has the creative juices and intellect of a 2nd grade comedy act. Also, the fact that this guy is trying to profit by selling T-shirts is a crime.

I think he needs a "mambulance!" I've been listening to this thing for 15+ years and I'm still laughing. Poor guy....he is so drunk he has no idea where in the hell he is and to top it off "a mother f**king dog is biten' my ass!!!!" The first time I listened to this I laughed so hard I started crying. It doesn't get much better than this!!
