BMW E39 engine - no noise

this is my 98 bmw e39 after changing primary timing chanin tensioner, adjusting oil pump chain, change plugs, but most importantly oil change (mobile 1 15 W 50). No nosie after oil change. I was making lifter noise but after oil change its gone.

hi the car still runs great no noise after warm-up. my car doesn't have vanos but you might want to have your vanos seals change. not a very easy job. also, i changed the oil to 5w40 with marvel mystery oil and the car stills sounds great, smooth. if you live is nyc area i know of a good mechanic in LIC that can help you. also, i recently had my ecu and tranny software upgrade. a good idea to get yours upgraded also

Hi there

I have a E39 2000 535i sports and have the Vanos tapping Deisel sound once warmed up. Did your car have the same noise and has this fix lasted.

Any help would be great.
