you smashed up your own streets and burned your own cars.i dont mean to sound cynical but you live in london and so does the pm and queen.why didnt you take your riot to downing street or the palace.
I love the UK, but it seems like the UK police get these crazy ideas and end up causing more trouble than they wanted to stop.
I cannot imagine what would happen here in America is thousands of Police just started to stop and search anyone they wanted.
Im NOT saying America is better or anything, but the Police here have what seems much more limited powers than the UK. And more importantly established boundaries of what the Police can and cannot do.
No offense, but European news agencies are very slanted towards anything political in America. Like all countries, we too have police brutality. BUT we also have very defined laws stating what a persons rights are regarding such police interaction. That makes it a lot easier for a person to defend himself against corrupt police in a court of law.
From my viewpoint, it seems that in the UK, there not clear boundaries as to what an officer can do.
You've been watching way too many movies. Anytime a US officers fires is sidearm, he is immediately taken off duty for 2-3 weeks while an OUTSIDE investigation takes place as to why he used his sidearm.
Not to mention nearly 75% of all US police are microphones and cameras placed in the vehicles. Of course, like all professions there are some bad apples. But the US police hardly spray bullets at people and get away with it. Whats more problematic are the cops using the tazer far too often.
