In 2003, Link Wray was ranked at number sixty-seven in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the Hundred Greatest Guitarists of all time, but has yet to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is, however, a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.

He's in the Rockabilly Hall Of Fame but he needs to be in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. No doubt about it.

  • The rock and roll hall of fame has got to be the most counter intuitive idea anyone has ever come up with. Why in the name of Jerry Lee Lewis,Jimi Hendrix and Ike Turner let alone Gene Vincent and his Blue Caps would anyone think that people who created a life breaking out windows and knocking down doors would build a house? It is the stupidest idea I've ever heard of. It's like cutting class and quitting school to become a superintendent of schools.I'd like to brain the idiot who thought it up.

  • @guywalker29 Your comment does have some validation. It's supposed to be about Rock and Roll. But 50% of its members are not Rock and Rollers. It's so diluted and watered down with members that are in there solely based on record sales. Link should be in it because of all the guitar greats he influenced like Jeff Beck,Eric Clapton,Bob Dylan,Pete Townsend,Jerry Garcia,Neil Young and many others.

  • @chainlinkray Just because Bob Dylan and Pete Townsend and Jerry Garcia do it, doesn't make it right. Rock And Roll is about money, too, yes. I'll go along with that, but I'd compare Link to Peetie Wheatrsaw The Devil's Son In Law than to Jerry Lee. Link is a Hound From Hell and Jerry Garcia and Jimmy Buffett and Huey Lewis can eat shit and die. Link is a greater thing than rock, Link is power from where Blind Willie McTell came from and that's where Link wants to be, not in a mausoleum.

  • @guywalker29 Are you saying the Hall Of Fame is a Mauseleum? It is in a way. A lot a dead great Rock and Rollers are in there. Why are you against that? Garcia performed with Link. Jerry Lee Lewis loved Link. Peetie and Blind Willie were early Blues Greats. Why are you mentioning Jimmy Buffet and Huey Lewis? They are performers who shouldn't be in there. lol
