We need your help. There are currently tens of thousands of people feared dead in Somalia from the worst drought in 60 years. The United Nations has officially declared the crisis a famine.

On August 5th-8th, in honour of the countless Somalis walking for miles in the drought (without food and water) to refugees camps, seven Somali Canadians will be walking for four days from Calgary to Edmonton to raise funds in support of Oxfam Canada and the Somali famine survivors.

  • @eastman1905 What does covering the hair have to do with this?

I started covering my hair in November 2010 but I hate when people start lecturing others. I'd rather see an uncovered lady trying to help her fellow human beings than someone who covers her hair but doesn't do a single thing to help society in general.

Who are u to judge others/

  • A big thank you from Oxfam Canada for your inspirational journey that has raised much needed funds to support the East Africa Crisis and heightened people’s understanding of the struggles and challenges that so many are facing in Somalia.

  • @Knaanology I think we should look at the statement PRACTICING MUSLIMS. These 7 brave souls took the time to plan and reach out to their fellow brothers and sisters. If this is not faith in action, I don't know what is! Bravo and God bless you all.
