@bthom68 Thanks for the help :) Happy Hunting

@madgoldnz I like my F4 because you can search in all metal (non discrimination mode) when I feel like it, mainly at the beach, which may help me find a few more coins than the f2.. but not many. Value for money, for finding coins in NZ the f2 is pretty amazing... and the way the kiwi dollar is at the moment.. quite a good time to buy one.

@bthom68 Do you think that for the extra money that you have to pay for the F4 that it is worth saving the extra for the F4? Or is the F2 all you really need as an entry level detector? I'm thinking of buying my first actual coin detector soon, and was thinking that an F2 would be the way to go. At present I use a ML gold detector. No discrimination whatsoever. So a discriminating coin detector for my coin expeditions would be a nice change :)

@mikefkingstrutter .. Havnt really tested them on small coins.. when I get a chance I'll have a go.. I can say that all the coils can find very tiny coins no problem.. as to depth , I dont think it would be any different to other size coins.. the bigger coils have a greater potential for depth so would find small coins at a greater depth.. I know from my experience that the 12 inch DD finds our tiny silver tree pence coins at six inches.. ringing in strong too.
Hey is this good at picking up gold or jewelery and stuff? cause im gonna be buying my first metal detector but i dont know which one to go with. Please help if you can

I don't want to fluster anyone but doing an air test and talking about depth is misleading. It should be termed as a distance. When talking about depth, we are taking into account the soil matrix in wich the target is in.
The F4 having variable ground balance(GB) adjustment, will be deeper in most soils than the fixed GB F2.
For the F2 and F4 to detect to the same depth(target in soil) this soil matrix has to be neutral or at the F2's fixed GB

@uTubed007 Yes your right of course, technically you will get better depth with the f4 in otherwise than perfect soil.. not by much in our experience really..
