The story of my Gretsch Chet Atkins guitar. Recorded at Lake Burton, Georgia.
This originally orange, now faded to a yellow Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins has been my friend since 1965. In that time we have traveled Europe and the United States together.

  • I applaud your singing, playing, and the song. BEAUTIFULLY DONE! I love the Gretsch sound, but what makes it isn't the guitar, but the person behind the guitar. You're excellent!

  • Thank you very much for your comment. It's nice to know

there are so many musicians out there who appreciate these fine American guitars, Philip

  • Thanks for your comment. There is something special about an instrument that has served me so well for so many years. We truly have "seen it all".

  • I've been a "Gretsch-a-holic" since I got my first one 42 years ago. Like your guitar, mine has a lot of mileage on it. Like a fine wine, it's only better with age, not to mention the memories! Continue playing and sharing the joy of music! You're excellent! Don

  • Royce, Thank you so much. This guitar and I have been together for a long time. It's hard to believe we have been making music together for 43 years. It has been in a rock band, an orchestra, an Irish show band, cabaret, plus I have taken it all over the U.S. It has always been up to the job. Gretsch are the most versatile of any electric guitars available, Philip.

  • This is one of the best videos on u-tube. Great job on the progression of you and the guitar. One can see the admiration you have for this guitar. Great singing also. Thanks--Royce
