You can hike anywhere, but in Oregon you can hike everywhere. We have trails through alpine passes, through ancient fossil beds and overlooking the Pacific. We have urban hikes and the Lewis and Clark trail. And with our temperate winters and breezy summers, you can hike nearly everywhere almost anytime.

"with our temperate winters and breezy summers, you can hike nearly everywhere almost anytime". Not exactly. The mountains, where most of the trails are, are buried in snow from late October to whenever it melts out. Higher elevation trails become snow free sometime between early June and mid July. I love hiking in Oregon. I hike the lower elevations in winter and move up with the snowmelt. I reserve backpacking mostly for September and early Oct. when the mosquitos are gone.
