Perfectly safe and for all those people with the rule books making stupid comments read them again. There is nothing saying a steep descent can not be used. The only limiting factor is the airplane and ATC if he's even talking to them. The PC-6 was built for that kind of operation.
This is a PC6. The landing shown is a normal everyday landing for pilots in the parachute-business - nothing crazy or stupid about it. Standard operation. But don't try this at home with your standard airplanes.

WOW! From 14kft to 0 in 2 and a half minute. That i aa average (!) descent rate of over 5500ft/min.
