Blackall has several claim's to fame . The location of the survey marker THE BLACK STUMP lyes within the town boundaries .
Jackie Howe was a GUN BLADE SHEARER who, back at the turn of the century, set the world record for shearing sheep in a day , 341 tally.
The wool scour at Blackall Qld is a historic site well worth a visit . The plant was run on steam in Yester-year and has been restored to working condition.
A new boiler runs the plant during tourist season . While i was there it was run on electricity
