SSgt Bobby Jack Ruddle, USMC, KIA Korea -- Presentation/Reissue of Medals to Family
Date and Time: 3 December 2011 at 4:30 PM
Location: Louisburg -- National Guard Armory, 600 South Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg, NC

On the above date at the schedule time a ceremony to present / reissue medals SSgt Bobby Jack Ruddle USMC earned while on active duty with the United States Maine Corps will be conducted. This Marine was killed in action in the Republic of Korea on 19 April 1953. The medals will be presented to his daughter Mrs. Terry Lancaster and her family.

The purpose of the ceremony is to commemorate SSgt Ruddle's memory and to recognize the sacrifice than families make for the freedom of our nation. More specifically the price one little girl paid.




U.S. Congressman Walter B. Jones will make the presentation of Medals and Flag
NC Governor Office - Colonel John A. Nicholson USMC, (ret.) - Military Affairs Advisor will a present letter from the Governor's Office
Certificate of Commendation to be presented from the Commandant of the Marine Corps
Certificate of Appreciation signed by the Secretary of Defense from The Korean War Commemorative Council.
George Cattelona, Marine that fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima to present Mt. Suribachi etching
NC Representative Glenn Bradley will be in attendance

NC Senator Doug Burger will be in attendance

Representatives from other State and Local government will be present

The media will be present

Veterans Organizations will be present

A United States Marine Corps Color Guard will perform

Army Band - 440th Quintet will perform

For Our Fallen -- Will Provide Bag Piper

Speed of Sound by Mark Speed will provide support

A flag flown over the White House, medals displayed in a shadow box, and certificates will be presented.
