so , how would yamaha compare to Sony ES 1200 for example...

@goran2009 Would expect it to sound better and have more features- the ES 1200 is around 5 years old. This Yamaha replaced my Sony DA 50 ES, which worked very well. The Yamaha is much better (newer design, better parts, and cost more, though adjusting for inflation, not much more).

Thanks! Specs say Burr-Brown DSD 1791/1796. Didn't check the DACs before I installed the receiver (should they be visible from the top vent?).

I think I've settled on the RX-A3010 for the other home theater in the basement. The home theater upstairs is using an older RX-V2700.

Love the 3D side by side which is the only way I can view 3D comfortably without glasses. The Sony TD10 did a remarkable job.

Have you checked the DACs, are they Burr-Browns?
