thats usually due to the fact that as soon as it gets that close and some one is punching you in the face only thing your thinking is "hit the sod back". it is the same with disarms in that 2 sec it takes to disarm, a good fighter can punch you a couple of times. no one has arrived at the call2arms yet who can make "locking" an effective technique. Can't wait to see the day someone can make it work.!

kris one of the co organisers runs classes in Dartford Kent. I am based in East London. I do not run classes but train at KO gym in Betnhal Green.

redelvis1469 i would have loved to have made it to the stick and stein but i had to find a medical centre as my first prority ;o). the eye cleared up about 2 weeks later thankfully.

it is not a euro version of the dog bros, but a british version of stick based mma. I'm not getting shitty about the comparison as there are many simularities. Kris who co-runs the event is a "dog" and goes to fight out in LA once a year, and i am going to my first one this year and we know they are amoung some of the best in the world at this sort of thing. The dog bros are a seperate entity with a different mentality as to why they do their thing and good luck to them.

we felt the skill level was eroding in the stick fighting art due to all the armoured compertitions which allow you to leave your self unprotected. This way you must show blocking and offensive ability. This is why a lot of armoured stick fighting champions in Britian are fighting in this event to prove their pedigree as fighters.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever heard of the Dog Brothers? They seem to do the same sort of stick-fighting you do.
