"The Hunger Games" Casting Heating Up

Movie Makers behind next year's highly anticipated "Hunger Games" are narrowing down the search for Katniss. ClevverTV breaks down the list coming up next.

Welcome back to ClevverTV. I'm Joslyn Davis coming to you from the heart of Hollywood with news from the casting front on 2012's sure hit movie Hunger Games. Speculation has been aplenty for several months now, about who will nab the coveted role of Katniss.

According to an exclusive interview Lionsgate gave to Entertainment Weekly, "despite all the chatter, there are no frontrunners at this point." Moreover, EW reports that "approximately 30 actresses have either met or read for the role, including...Jennifer Lawrence, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Chloe Moretz, Emma Roberts, Emily Browning and Shailene Woodley."

Clearly there are few Academy Award nominees on that little list, and Jennifer Lawrence recently revealed on the Oscar red carpet that she "met with Gary Ross, [the director] and it's definitely something [they're] taking a day at a time." And according to one insider who spoke about Jennifer's audition, she "really went for it and she blew them away."

THANK GOD they didnt choose that girl from Secret Life of American Teenager. She was such a bad actress!! (in my opinion) i couldnt imagine anyone else as katniss other than Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer looks a bit old when she had blonde hair. But with her hair dyed brown, my oh my, she looks young! And she can act, the important part is that they can act.

At first everyone though jennifer lawrence looked to old, and blonde, but my God she blew me away when her hair was dyed brown and we finally got a glimpse of her as Katniss. she is PERFECT. AND she can act.

dont complain about the actors age until you see how well they can act as 16 year olds. the glee cast is all thirty and they play high schoolers
