Brigands and Bushwackers hit my Valkyrie hard, and I really didn't think she was going to make it. As always, the party would be toast without my Bard and his Lute, which puts enemies to sleep with surprising effectiveness. Never leave home without a Bard! That said, I need to train his Ninjutsu skill as well by hiding a lot during battles. Hiding is another extremly useful skill in W6, as it can apparently make you practically invincible (if they can't see you, they can't hit you, right?).

  • hiding (stealth) is also very unbalanced in wizardry 8 as well. It gives Thieves an AC better then fighters.

  • Just out of curiosity, is it the same in W7? Would be rather funny if all three games had the exact same unbalance.

Still, in a game as challenging and lengthy as W6, I'm not complaining about a particular unbalance that happens to benefit the player. ;)

  • I don't believe it's even in there. Unless only thieves start with it. I've only played ninjas in place of thieves and They don't have a comparable skill.
