Updating the NIV

Translating the scriptures from ancient Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic into English is a task of biblical proportions.

Professor Douglas Moo, Chair of the Committee on Bible Translation, the body of scholars who look after the text of the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible, explains how the NIV seeks to recreate, as far as possible, the reading experience of the original audience, and how the updated text maintains and strengthens these priorities.
