~♥~ I'm rebatching my last Avocado oil soap recipe because it turned out too drying for most people. I added more oil and some Aloe extract. I found that even after I rebatched it is still very drying. To many fruit oils I'm guessing. I think that because I used so much unrefined Avocado oil the AHA in the oil are very strong. I still like this soap but now I can only use it on my face once or twice a week instead of everyday. It does short order to acne though I found and really exfoliates very well. I will however go back to the drawing board on this one . So that I can have a facial soap that works for everyday. Once I have a good one I'll do another video on Avocado Oil soap. I'm thinking of making it the main oil in an acne soap with tea tree and eucalyptus. It would work great as long as a smaller amount is used so it doesn't irritate already inflamed skin. Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think! ;0) ~♥~ Happy Soaping Everyone! ~♥~

  • Wel i'm really not sure how to answer that question...because commercial soap isn't soap at all..it's detergent. For regular soap I would say just a couple of tsp. of essential oil per pound should be enough a bit more if you want a stonger scent. I'm not sure about commercial "soap" though the scent or chemicals present may alter the scent. You can rebatch as much as you want since you use water to melt the soap down just don't add too much oil to homemade soap or you may end up with DOS.

  • Looks nice! How does it lather?

  • sorry about that last comment i thought for some reason I was talking about a different soap vid. lol. this one does lather quite well actually. The best lather is my shea butter soap..it has a very luxurious lather. :0)

  • I know! Talk about frustrating. Someone mentioned to me I could rebatch it again and add more lye and then some olive oil too. That way it wouldn't be too SF and it would add more moisture. I may try that. *sigh* lol

  • i just rebatched my soap. i used commercial soap. i had 2 "tone" bars that smelled great and one "dial bar . i rebatched and i used honey oatmeal and coconut milk. i even used a little bit of body cream that i love -and the texture is great but the smell is way off. it smells like fresh homemade soap without scent.can i rebatch again and if so ,how much oil to a pound of soap?

  • It looked very moisturizing, surprised it was still drying
