  • Nice video!

Do you get freights going thru there s well, or all passenger service?

And is there a crossing guard at that pedestrian crossing Railroads are so safety conscious it's hard to believe they'd let people cross the tracks randomly and not have a protection system in place.

  • Thank You!

And to answer your questions, the only freight operations through here are the Amtrak Ballast Trains that run out to the Glen Mills Quarry.

Most of the R3 stations have designated pedestrian crossings and the rest of the station you cannot cross because of a fence in the middle.

Also, the station loudspeaker announces approaching trains, and there is a pedestrian crossing light to notify passengers when to cross although they shouldn't cross right behind like in this video

  • awesome job nice horn on it! love the view of the tarins and the horns on the SEPTA trains! AWESOME VIDEO DUDE!!! great job i love the place there its peace and quiet except 4 trains!! which i would love!!!!!

  • thanks! yeah all the stations along the R3 are really nice and quiet, which make for a great place to railfan!

  • AWESOME video! Seriously great job! One of your best no doubt... love the Silverline IV horn, too!

  • thank you very much! The silverliner IV does have a nice horn especially compared to other silverliner horns.

  • Car 455, and presumably the one hooked to it, showed up the next morning (Monday, 9/8) on train 326, a 4-car consist which starts at Elwyn using cars that spent the night there. Since 455 was heading for Philadelphia, it must have come back to Elwyn later that night. R3's from Elwyn just go to Philadelphia on weekends because the R3 W. Trenton trains are paired with Airport trains then. The 4 cars on train 326 (and 327) on 9/8 were 456, 455, 448, and 447.
