The Old City of Jerusalem Part two of three

This is continuing the walk through the Old City in the Moslem and Christian quarters of east Jerusalem.
This part takes in part of the via Dolorosa including the second, sixth and eighth stations of the cross, the church built on the site where Jesus was whipped and parts of the market which seems to be everywhere.
We walk out of the city via the Lion Gate - the place where Israeli paratroopers entered Jerusalem in June 1967. There is also a little story about Suleman the magnificent and how he repented of his high taxation policies and chose to do something for the inhabitants himself.

There are a number of films here on the packaging industry. With all the money the vatican has and the political power we had. WHy did we not purchase r take this land of the via delorosa and make it a heritage site so merchants could not set up a shop where Jesus walked. INSANE!

Judging by your level of English, you are not an educated person. I am a bit curious to know who is doing the cursing of those that curse Israel. Probably the Israelis themselves.

It was the Romans who murdered Jesus and the Papacy is a continuation of the Empire of Rome, so to see these pagan churches built by Rome on top of the places where Jesus walked and died is a lasting insult to the man they killed. Rome, your days are numbered.

I think it is a disgrace that ppl are selling bags & t-shirts where Jesus once walked as well!...but like alanheath said its ovious that many are going to visit it & many of those ppl are probably going to want to take back a souvenier so all the merchants there are always going to have booming business!
