Autizmus:

Az autizmus egy idegi-fejlődési rendellenesség, ami csökkent mértékű társadalmi kapcsolatokban, kommunikációs képességekben, abnormális viselkedési és érdeklődési mintázatokban nyilvánul meg. Bár a rendellenesség etiológiája (eredete) ismeretlen, a genetikai tényezők fontosnak tűnnek.
Két típusa van: az erős Kanner-szindróma és a gyengébb Asperger-szindróma.

Asperger-szindróma esetén a páciens kiválóan képes szavakkal kommunikálni például írásban, de a kommunikáció kísérőjelenségeinek (arckifejezés, testbeszéd, hanghordozás) értelmezése nehezen megy neki, a szemkontaktust nehezen viseli stb.
Az autista emberek számos esetben fejlődhetnek a memória terén, így képesek lesznek számolási és memóriafeladatokat megoldani, olykor az egészséges emberek között is kiemelkedő eredménnyel.

Definíció szerint (DSM-IV) az autizmusban „késés figyelhető meg a szociális interakcióban, a kommunikációs nyelvben, a szimbolikus és imaginatív játékban", és a tünetek 3 éves kor előtt megjelennek. Az autizmus egyre gyakrabban lép fel gyerekeknél -- ennek okait vitatják; lehetséges, hogy csak arról van szó, hogy gyakrabban ismerik fel a betegséget.

Vannak esetek, ahol az autista gyerekek olyannyira javították a szociális és más képességeiket, hogy képesek részt venni az oktatásban és a társadalmi eseményekben, de egyesek úgy vélik, hogy az autizmust nem vagyunk képesek teljes mértékben gyógyítani jelenlegi tudásunk szerint, mert olyan agyi és idegi struktúrák okozzák, amelyek a fejlődés korai szakaszában már kialakultak.
Bizonyos autista gyerekek és felnőttek viszont, akik képesek funkcionális szinten kommunikálni, ellenzik a gyógyításukra irányuló kísérleteket.

Az egyik leghíresebb, Asperger-szindrómás autista Axel Brauns, aki miután tünetmentessé vált, könyvet is írt élményeiről Cifraárnyak és Denevérek címmel (Axel Brauns: Buntschatten und Fledermause, 2002).

Autism is a brain development disorder that impairs social interaction and communication, and causes restricted and repetitive behavior, all starting before a child is three years old. This set of signs distinguishes autism from milder autism spectrum disorders (ASD) such as Asperger syndrome.

Autism has a strong genetic basis, although the genetics of autism are complex and it is unclear whether ASD is explained more by multigene interactions or by rare mutations. In rare cases, autism is strongly associated with agents that cause birth defects. Other proposed causes, such as childhood vaccines, are controversial and the vaccine hypotheses lack convincing scientific evidence. Most recent reviews estimate a prevalence of one to two cases per 1,000 people for autism, and about six per 1,000 for ASD, with ASD averaging a 4.3:1 male-to-female ratio. The number of people known to have autism has increased dramatically since the 1980s, at least partly due to changes in diagnostic practice; the question of whether actual prevalence has increased is unresolved.

Autism affects many parts of the brain; how this occurs is poorly understood. Parents usually notice signs in the first two years of their child's life. Early behavioral or cognitive intervention can help children gain self-care, social, and communication skills. There is no cure. Few children with autism live independently after reaching adulthood, but some become successful, and an autistic culture has developed, with some seeking a cure and others believing that autism is a condition rather than a disorder.

Well, this video is excellent. It shows the main problem of autism. The choice of music is perfect. I know some people who had this syndrome ... and everybody is different, and  need a lot of patience to understand them. Congratulation. (MSzB) :-)

Oh, I am so glad you like it, Cirmuli :) I think I have a lot of patience for those people who have any kind of disorders... I am as sensitive as them... And I have a friend who has Cerebral Palsy (Little-kór) - If I wrote well - and she's my "Angel". Autism is very interesting for me. Köszönöm! :)
