This was to be sung by Rafi with Lata. But from 1962 - 1966 they were in dispute and refused to record together. So, Roshan had use Suman Kalyanpur instead. Lyric is by Shakeel Badayuni who at one point was limited to write for Naushad mainly & 4 Ghulam Mohammad. The trend was broken by Guru Dutt when he requested very humbly to Shakeel to write for Ravi in Chaudvin Ka Chand 1960. Again, upon Dutt's request he wrote for Hemant Kumar in Sahib, Bibi aur Ghulam 1962 and the doors opened 4 him.
