Been so many words so much to say
Words are not enough to keep the guns at bay
Some live in fear some do not
Some gamble everything on who gets the final shot

Oh don't talk to me of love
It's obvious it's not enough
Annihilation kill them all
Capitulation watch the mighty fall
The road to glory is lined in red
And though the reason now is gone
The battle rages on

Was it love or hate that got here first
Hate's a habit it's hard to shake the curse
Kill to live and live to die
Human nature you let the strong survive

Oh don't talk to me of love
Be serious it's not enough
Annihilation kill them all
Capitulation watch the mighty fall
The road to glory is lined in red
And trough the reason now is gone
The battle rages on

  • Old school metal? This is True Rock, plain and simple!

  • annihilation, kill 'em all--capitulation, watch the mighty fall ! - nice and catchy, and the best melody within one of the last true metal songs ever penned - when "they"(pretty much anybody) start writing them like this again, I'll start listening to newer music - 'til that time, the cutoff date remains early 90's (and, of course, 60's to 80's remains the best of the best...)

  • @briantravelman Most of the music for this album had been written before Ian Gillan rejoined, so in a way you are right.

  • I was just wondering thast myself!

  • So how is that battle for the information domain coming?

  • @akibubba1 Soo true man..

  • Man what is this? This doesn't sounds like Deep Purple. Well the singing does, but the music doesnt.

  • Are they using a phrygian dominant scale in this riff 2:20 ?

  • @LordGoumis err no. this riff was taken from Fire Dance Rainbow, it's dropped D tuning

  • I think this is the only song that Blackmore played with dropped D tuning. Great riff.

  • I`m not much of a fan of DP, but the riff here is BRILLIANT.
