  • Isn't it necessary to make a solution of D.E. in a bucket and then add it to the skimmer in order to have more even application of D.E. to the filter grids?

  • Sorry it took me so long to respond to this, but I had some family issues...so I could not do my normal YouTubing. Anyway, to answer your question, it is not really necessary to mix the DE in water before putiing it in the skimmer as long as you add it slowly. But it could not hurt to make a slurry type solution and add it that way instead. Hope this helps and thanks for watching :o) Dan

  • great video. In part 1 you closed the multi-port, did you turn the multi-port to filter and at what point do you turn it back to filter or backwash?

  • sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this - i was out for 2 weeks. i would suggest going to our pool and spa web site, then go to the info-tips tab on the top navigation bar, then you will see a bunch of links with written instructions detailing how to backwash, and in what order you turn the valves during the backwashing. hope this helps and thanks for watching! dan

  • Do I have to soak the filter in Trisodium Phosphate before the acid soak?

  • No, I would not do that. Thanks for watching :o) Dan

  • The powder was D.E. - It stands for Diatomaceous Earth, which is actually ground-up, fossilized, dead sea creatures. Thanks for watching ! Dan
