Vogue's Couture Dinner at the V&A

"It was a great evening and a terrific turnout," says Alexandra Shulman, editor of British Vogue, who co-hosted the Couture Gala in the V&A during London Fashion Week. "Prince, David Cameron, John Galliano, Nigella Lawson, Kate Moss all in one room - it was the perfect illustration of what the London mix is like. Michael Howells had decorated the museum in the pale grey Couture colour of the house of Dior which was a great foil to the all the clothes. Courtney Love looked amazing in a white and silver Givenchy gown, Helen Taylor in midnight blue Armani, Agyness Deyn in Burberry. I was thrilled to meet Johnny Borrell, who had come as a guest of Versace, as I'm a huge fan." As Alexandra was inside meeting and greeting, VogueTV's Louise Roe was chatting to the fashion frontliners who were there to join the fun: see Eva in Dior, Yasmin in YSL, Sophie Dahl in Versace - and Natalia Vodianova looking quite spectacular in Givenchy just five days after having her third baby.

I saw it with my Art class actually... it was an 'art trip' to the Tate Modern and the V&A. While you're there, you should also check out Lee Miller's photography (its the room right next to the couture exhibition). There is also noteworthy architecture to be seen at the V&A.
