Most of the seeds have sprouted. I spent the afternoon removing an old cast-iron sink to make room for a makeshift potting bench.

  • I'm growing 9 different varieties this year-- mostly butter-head types. Here's a list of the varieties I planted: Brune D' Hiver, Gentilina, Henderson's Black-seeded Simpson, Dark Lolla Rosa, Lolla Rosa, May Queen, Tom Thumb, Sanguine Ameliore, and De Morges Braun. I purchased this seed from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds; and so far, no duds.
