@Scote1992 Ah ok, sounds like the rates are competitive then. Good luck with your training! :)
-
@Xiupan ya it's running around $198 an hour wet, it has a full glass cockpit G1000. i'm doing most of my instrument rating in a 172N and most of my commercial in a 150

@Scote1992 The DA-40 is a nice plane! The flight school I was at had one as well with a full glass cockpit! It was awesome :) I hope you are not overpaying... I paid about $130 an hour for the DA-20 with fuel and instructor. The DA-40 was a little more expensive for us; about $150-180 per hour wet with instructor.

@Scote1992 I love series like this and hope I can find more. I'm jealous you got to train in a nice plane like that. The flight school I'm at just got a DA-40 but it's wicked expensive.

@Scote1992 Yeah I realize now how bad I was on the radios hah. But after my ATC training, I know exactly what to say now hah :p Vy? Best rate of climb? Hell, I don't remember. I got up to altitude quickly and without stalling, that's all that really matters lol.
-
Wow, radio work is needed, were you climbing at Vy?
-
Thanks but since this was still kind of early in my flight training, I wouldn't go by what I did as correct lol. Listen to your flight instructors instead :p

Great! I love these videos. They have taught me much about procedures and communications. Thanks!
One word of advice, when it comes to the controllers...speak to them FIRST! You never know what is ahead of you, or what is coming at you, program your GPS later.

@montypilot93 You're absolutely right. It's better to be safe than sorry and ATCs are there to provide service for pilots, so use them whenever you can! :p
