The film portrays the man-animal conflict and its repercussions; the tussle between the ancient pachyderm and the tribals of the forest, which is a manifestation of a deeper and more vicious cycle; the disruption of the balance in Nature, on which rests the harmony of existence - the devastation of this critical framework, by mankind's relentless and unsustainable obsession with power and development.
This film was the first Asian film to win the worlds most prestigious environment award The Green Oscar - Panda Award at the Wildscreen, 1994. It subsequently went on to win seven other international awards.

seriously, doing all that work because of you people tearing down the elephants first home, then second, tearing down the freaking villagers home, so you think the problem is the elephants? like wtf are they suposed to do, move the dam villagers, don't drug those elephants and get those other elephants indangered while in the process of moving them, and plus since the drug can blind them, so fucking selfish.

it's our duty to save our jungles and it's inhabitant's too,we share same land with our wildlife,so,as we wan't to live happily they also do. it's lack of awareness and care from the government. we have to protect the place the jungle where they belong only then we can make efforts to save the animals.

Really a great documentary and loved that its from India!! We have very less contribution to the world of wildlife documentaries.....but I do see there is a slow rate of increase in it which is a great sign. Kudous to Mike Pandey for his efforts. All the best and hope we will be able to save much of our wildlife before its too late.

Pretty sad indeed. I knwo they are trying to help but honestly i dont trust these authorities and their skills to handle this serious business. We need to fix the humans then to disturb these natural heir of these forests. One of these india would lose all its natural resources and the only thing we are going to have is starving ugly population. We should seriously punish people who would have more one child like in china. India wont be able to provide for this huge population for long.
