@AroundSun absolutely right. not to mention, the ada has probably increased unemployment for everyone else because of the increased risks and regulations of starting/running a business.
What about the fact that people just simply stopped hiring the disabled for fear of being sued if they ever had to fire the employee. Unintended consequences
@jbird0168 Yes, W took some of the teeth out of the ADA in favor of the employers. I have done some research on the matter. And the ADA rarely comes down on the employees side. And mental handicaps are worse. Most of the time, they tell you to take it to a personal lawyer. (Rather then them get involved) Because they know that most of the disabled can not afford the lawyers. And besides that, all the employers has to do is lie, and they are in the clear.
lool k i tried to watch this with a serious face because i could tell from the title it would be funny. but as soon as that old stupid lady in the wheelchair came on i jus cracked up straight away. i have a video dedicated to these people on my channel
All I see here are people in wheelchairs. I see nothing for mental handicaps. I have heard about the blind. Do you have anything like for a woman with a brain disability. Yes I need accommodations too. Are brain disabilities more rare than physical handicaps?
Yes it is. It is perfectly reasonable. The "direct threat" concept is, indeed, an exception, but "direct threat" is defined, in the statute, as "a significant risk to the health and safety of others that cannot be eliminated by reasonable accommodation."
If a reasonable accommodation could eliminate the risk, the entities bound by the statute are required to engage in said accommodation. Period.

Good on G.H.W. Bush for signing the Americans with Disabilities Act. It was definitely a gesture of love and consideration for his son's needs.
