  • I thought I had a comment here from awhile ago,but I don't see it; whatever.I love this interview, its a great explanation. When you're young and alienated and become aware of this music it affects you.It helps you form an identity and influences the worldview you develop. Most of all,it helps you release angst when you might not be able to do so otherwise. For some, specific politics are part of what's punk, but that's too exclusive.Tim seems to agree.Punk is basically not for ppl who feel "normal".

  • All day I hear "omg they're not punk! they're posers! they're sellouts!" for some band or another... and its like who the fuck cares. it's music shut up. Tim's got it exactly right, who are you to tell someone they're not punk? Let people live their lives and stop trying to bring everyone down.

  • Thats one of the realest motherfuckers there ever was in the biz right there hear me? i hung out in a alley with Tim n Lars drinkin all kind a different beers next to their van for all night long til the sun almost came up. Them two started fightin though. I miss em. Wont be no others like em. I was a kid when i heard em in SLO one time. 1994. I connected instantly. Aint no punk like a west coast punk rocker.

  • Nicely said. A friend of mine once said that blues is punk, it rebelled, shouted and got angry at the situation of its time. I thought that was a pretty cool notion.

Music is one of our better inventions and be it punk, soul, blues reggae, whatever it's thanks to bands like Rancid that we can all unite under a feeling that speaks to us all. If that's punk, then yep, I'm a punk.

  • I love this video! Mostly because i get shit sometimes from people who say i dont "look punk enough" ... fucking tards..
