Peter and the Test Tube Babies are a punk rock band formed from a small town Peacehaven, England in 1978 by Del Strangefish and Peter Bywaters. Due to their humorous tongue-in-cheek lyrics, they have been considered part of the Punk Pathetique subgenre.[1] Peter and the Test Tube Babies were first featured in Sounds magazine in July 1980, and after a John Peel Radio One session, made their vinyl debut on the Brighton compilation album Vaultage 78. They also had two songs on the seminal Oi! compilation Oi! the Album in that same year.[2] They favoured absurd lyrics and strange titles, such as "The Queen Gives Good Blow Jobs."[3] In 1982, they covered the chart-topping Gary Glitter hit "I'm the Leader of the Gang (I Am)" on their album Pissed and Proud. They have continued to perform in the 2000s. Their polished, professional live show is in contrast to the non-serious nature of their lyrics.

In a bar someplace right now, someone's going to start a row.
Just one more Scotch will do the trick, something in his brain will click.

Watch his friends start to move away, as he downs the Scotch and starts to sway.
Now through the haze, he starts to see, that everyone's his enemy.

He shouts abuse at the bar staff, they just reply with a nervous laugh.
Pushes his girlfriend off her chair, starts throwing glasses in the air.

Someone moves in to calm him down, but he just gets knocked to the ground.
He's not a violent guy, he turns nasty on a whisky high.
He gets thrown out, but it takes four, to get him through the door.
In his mind a voice starts to say, someone, somewhere's gonna pay.

He grabs some bloke just passing by, and smacks him one between the eyes.
He stumbles home kicking cars, and getting thrown out of other bars.
