ASUS G51VX-RX05

Playing F.E.A.R. 2 demo on Asus gaming laptop.

Recorded with a camera. The amount of fps can be seen on the top left side of the screen (Fraps counter). All settings set to the max. Runs at about 59-60fps (steadily; most of the time), will go down to 30 at some parts depending on the amount of action, number of enemies, etc. but tends to quickly get back to 60.

All in all, the game both plays great and looks terrific! The video doesn't do any justice to the laptop.

  • Damn that game is fucked up

  • @ATLracing

It depends on preference. I have to have higher than 60 FPS to be comfortable. With vsync, there's a very slight input lag that is only measurable in milliseconds, however I still notice it. D:

  • How would this game play on these two laptops! PLEASE RESPOND!!! (Acer Aspire 7552g-6016) or the (Acer Aspire 7741g-7017) the only difference is the CPU's! One is the Core i5 460m (Dual Core with hyper threading) at 2.53 gb turbo boost up to 2.8 AND the other is an AMD Phenom ii Quad-Core N950 at 2.1 ghz!!!! the i5 has 3mb of L3 Cache and the AMD has only 2 mb of L2 Cache! they both have the same graphics. ATI Radeon mobility 5650 1gb!

  • @rayinz101 The max fps your eye can see is 60. Vsync helps it sync up with that. In addition to that, since most LCDs will run at 60hz at their native resolution, it will prevent what's called "page tearing" which is when you see horizontal lines across the screen during fast motion. It's really a pretty good idea to have it on if your computer runs the game above 60 fps in the first place.

  • @ATLracing sry but what is vsync ? i knw what is stands 4 but what does it do with games?

  • @ATLracing

    i guess

  • Why would you want it at anything but 60 fps? It's better with the vsync on.

Yea, don't worry about the G60VX thing. Mine shows up as G60Vx too. Google the upgrate link or just contact Asus (might be a long wait). I've already gotten my Win 7, just I won't use it yet

  • @bluecocoa7 Yeah I did buy my Asus at Bestbuy. The Model type at the bottom says it's a G51Vx-RX05. But the system itself say's that the model type is G60Vx.

  • @XeresKyle

I've heard about G51Vx being labelled as G60Vx in another country. I contacted Asus and they told me that refurbished laptop is not qualified. I think with exception if you got it from BestBuy
