The TP16 Thorens arm fitted to TD160 turntables, when adjust properly, is dynamically balanced making it immune to external movement of the turntable suspended sub-chassis. In this video, the turntable is seen wobbling up and down a few mm, but the arm does not wobble relative to the platter (watch the lack of movement between pickup and record.\). This also had the effect of minimising transmission of rumble from the main turntable bearing into the pickup.
