I love ducks. I used to eat them but after approaching them in a park in Paris, I couldn't do that any longer. They are actually very intelligent and I enjoy feeding them. One day, I caught a duckling and it is so soft and let it go back to her momy. How cute!

This is sooo cute and nice!
Your Virgil is such a nice and pretty duck, I think you're very proud of her!
And her babies are sooo cute and sweet.
I like how calm she's sitting here with her new tiny family and is pretty watching her kids. I am sure that she's a very very good mother to her kids.
You made this video very good, especially the music is very nice and matches perfect to this sweet scene.
Congratultions! I enjoyed it!
Beautiful! I love the name!..(I'm a Latin/Greek/Roman history Nerd ^_^). Did Virgil let you handle her babies? I hand-raised two ducks as well from eggs. Such loving birds.

thank you for your comments. She let me handle the babies for the first day or two - not after that. She is a sweetie. The babies are all grown and were released. I still have her because is physically challenged and cannot return to the wild. I have other special needs ducks as well. They are all precious.

You can purchase duck food - crumble (NOT-medicated or your own using cracked corn & oatmeal. Blend it a food processor into a course powder & add in lettuce, NOT iceburg -cut into small pieces. At about a week old change the food in a seperate dish. The MUST be kept warm. Place them in a cage and the cage on a heating pad set to a very low temperature. They are easy to catch pnuemonia. At a week old give then thawed or freash peas. Good luck. Let me know if you have questions.

That is so cute. I never realized that Mallard mother duckling could be so mellow. They always seem hyper where I love. The Muskovies are very gentile with their children. It's so cute when they all bundle up. I love ducklings. Please take a look at the two I raised in my profile. Several videos of Jane and Lisa. I love them so, especially Lisa (the black one) because she still lets me hold her!

Thank you for you comments. Virgil (is a very good Mom). We raised her from a baby so she is used to people. Since the video was taken they hav all grown up. Two flew away but the reset decided to stay. We have a large happy duck family.
