Andrew, from HIGHWAYEV.com, dropped by the shop looking for a little help. He recently purchased an electric Rav4 like the ones we have, and was having trouble getting it to charge. Luckily, Clint's the man, because Andrew left with a perfectly working electric Rav4.

  • Yep for Japanese it is プラグ or pu-ra-gu. How much did you guys pay for your RAV4EV's?

  • Good to know, glad it wasn't just a blatant misspelling.

  • We paid $31,000 for our white RAV4 EV which has a new pack from the Battery Dr and $27,000 for our silver one. I'm not sure how much Andrew paid for his silver one that is in the video.

  • it's how chinese and japanese people pronounce plug lol

  • Haha yeah, the proof reader must have been off that day...

  • One last question. I'm sure you heard about the Tesla Model S coming out. DO you think it's worth getting for the extra money? I would like to upgrade to the version that goes 300 mpc, but that is running around 70g. I know it depends on how much you drive it, but do you think it would be better getting a hybrid for the long drive and a electric for local? Or should I go all out and just go for the Tesla, that could possibly get my by on the longer drives.

  • I thought they recalled all the EV's back in the day. But Loved the video. You guys thinking about upgrading to the new Rav4 ev with the tesla battery in it? I've always wanted a tesla, but they cost so much, and I always like the look of the Rav4 growing up. So when I heard Toyota was making the Rav4 with Tesla batteries I was sold.

  • @ElectricThrust Well, still misspelled. Japanese have difficulties with "L" and "R" sound in English. The most famous was Japanese supporters of Gen. Douglas MacArthur's presidential aspirations declaring: "We play for MacArthur's erection."

  • @ElectricThrust That is really not too bad. It is so unfortunate that Toyota didn't continue to sell these vehicles. They seem so practical. In a lot of ways they are really the best examples of what an EV can be.
