  • Um, love your band, very entertaining show and all, but the Bellevue bands have been the best in the state for the last 30 years and I don't see that changing any time soon. And yes, that includes color guard. You guys are great, but you have to start going to BOA to see what real competition is like. Bellevue bands were 16th and 17th at the St Louis Regional last year--that's how tough it is in the Midwest. You just have to get out of Nebraska to realize it.

  • This years show has potential but it is nowhere near this level yet. : /

  • Your shows are always so much fun:) Love you!!..I'm from Bellevue West:)

  • #5.) If you feel the need to boast about your band program that's fine but keep it off other schools videos. I'm perfectly fine with debating but know your topic and back it up. There are amazing programs in Nebraska that don't even GO to competitions. I'm glad that schools compete outside the state and others just perform to entertain crowds.

  • #3.) In 2001 Bellevue East got a 2 at NSBA. Check your facts.

#4.) In 2010 Bellevue West almost got a 2 because of a huge penalty and they got beat by bands such as Millard West, Bell East, Papillion South, Elkhorn High.

  • #2.) Fun fact. It was known through out Nebraska that Papillion LaVista SENIOR high had the best marching band around for about 15 years. Koca who was the band director at the time had bands that marched flawlessly and the Bellevue's couldn't match it.

  • Okay listen up. First of all you have no idea what you're talking about because:

#1.) Nebraska Bands only competed indoor at a competition in the Persian center in Lincoln because the NSBA contest didn't form until 1983. There fore PLV could not have been saying bellevue's watch out because there wasn't a contest and the bellevue's didn't even go to it.

  • Swinks:

Nice to hear from you and you are exactly right--the Bellevue bands totally play to the judges--unapologetically. They are both state-of-the-art, competitive, BOA bands, not half-time show bands. As long as the Titan kids are satisfied with cheering fans and not winning NSBA, everyone goes home happy, and there's nothing wrong with that. However, I've been hearing "watch out, Bellevue bands" from PLV people for 30 years--we're still waiting. BTW, I really did love the Samurai show!

  • @broncoman55hank, the 2010 show was great--check out the 2004 and 2005 performances as well; I personally think they're a bit better. Lol.

  • @CorpJunkie, after reading that comment, I'm not so sure that you "love" my band. As a 2009 graduate of this high school and former section leader, I can tell you that Papillion-La Vista South is truly amazing. Don't get me wrong, the Bellevue schools are extremely talented as I'm sure everyone knows, but the only reason they do so well is because their shows are full of expectation: they do exactly what the judges want. My band is more about captivating the audience--a true performance.
