@Altelier Back then, Europeans had no concept of a "white race". That is a 20th century construct of Nazis and American fascist groups like the KKK. Private property was just another way for the state to control slaves after the end of slavery. They figured out people only really want their basic needs met. So instead of letting the people go live off the land that was just all freed from slave labor, they fenced it all off and said "private property", but we will give you a job for pittance
