""Umleitung" for Alt Saxophone & Bass clarinet was written in fall 2009. It was originally written for English horn & Bass Saxophone and premiered in March 2010 in Germany. The composer rearranged the piece for these two instruments to explore more possibilities of the different sounds.
The piece has a very melodic, contrapunctual texture, which shows some rhythmic development in the middle section. With these combination of instruments of the woodwind family, the composer tried to create the rather mellow atmosphephere throughout the whole piece". Orie Sato
