I happen to live in the catskills near where this doc was shot. I see people saying lets look at what they are doing overseas, in Germany or on the west coast in America. There is no comparison. The mountains and valleys of upstate NY are so close together. These huge turbines will not work for the catskills!!!!!!!!! There are so many other options for the catskills!!! Make solar more affordable. Harness the power of all the rivers in the area. Lets go people.

@RandomVersion 440,000 birds a year killed by wind turbines. Thats alot right? Nope. 500 million killed by cats, 57 million by cars, and 97.5 million killed by collisions with plate glass. So they dont kill alot of birds.

Its like Gasland. Except instead of toxic and life threatening chemicals in the air and the water, its some noise and and shadows. These poor, poor people.

Could the Wind Turbines of Chile Harm Blue Whales?
Time AARON NELSEN
Wind turbines are increasingly recognized as a lethal hazard for birds, but some scientists now think they're also harmful to marine life. From half a mile away, the whooshing turbines emit an acceptable noise level of around 50 decibels; but if some of the Ecopower turbines are placed as close as 10 meters from the shoreline, they say, levels for ocean life could approach if not exceed a more harmful 100 decibels.

@claykiller2010 Well said. I think the most laughable thing about this doc. is "wind turbine syndrome." Get out of here. Bullshit.
I guess you could say these people aren't big fans of big fans.

I think most people are judging this film too harshly based on assumptions about the film's intent. It isn't demonizing wind power, but rather demonstrating how through corporate greed and local negligence, it can be destructive- while at the same time taking an honest look at the legitimate flaws in this form of energy that could possibly be fixed.
Think of it as a movie that is trying to make wind power better, and eliminating the corrupting influence of Goldman Sachs.
