I got this from my neighbor last week, it had been sitting for 4 years. The carb was literally falling off, but after we found that and tightened it, she started right up with a squirt of starter fluid and one pull. In fact, this motor runs better than most newer Tecumsehs I've used! He mentioned something about a belt, obviously the belt that drives the impeller is stretched.

  • like a 10 hores that dose not have a lot of problems

  • There's no way I can give away something that big that runs. I don't have the kind of money to give stuff I paid for away. Sorry.

  • hey can u like give me a motor mabye a 20 horse plz im 13 and trying to build a go kart and u sound like a prety nice guy coment bake kk

  • That's a lot to ask for free. Something that big is usually worth a couple hundred running.

  • Sure looks like you need to adjust the speed at which the auger spins.

  • That was before the new auger belt was put it, it's going so slow because the belt was slipping the whole time. You can even see when it first started, it slipped so much the auger wouldn't even move.

  • way to go dude! i got one JUST like it...the cover for the intake is gone on mine and i have a different muffler....my blower is the same, but the motor is newer...but luckily for you yours runs..i need a coil for mine

  • @lowbrocustoms96 that wiuld be too big for the go cart you wouldnt ever come across a situation where u would need that mcuh horse power on something that little

  • That primer button is not like a rubber primer bulb. You have to hold it in while pulling the engine over at full choke a few times then it will fire right up.

  • A Tecumseh that dosent suck. Very cool.

  • Nice old blower... Does it have an ignition kill toggle switch on the engine or up on the handlebars? Most of the older ones like that do.. Here is a tip about the Primer on these. Turn the igntion switch to OFF, if the fuel tank has a valve on it open it, put to full choke and hold primer baffle inward, pull engine over 2-3 pulls, then release primer baffle and flip ignition to ON and then give it another pull. My 7hp Tecumseh is the same style, its a 1973 Craftsman.

  • you push the primer when u pull the engine over with the choke on and it sucks the gas through mechanicly

  • Just amazing how these old small engines will fire up and run well after sitting all that time. My neighbors blower is about 25 years old and I don't even think he has ever replaced the plug! Sits outside year round and yet fires up and works like a trooper when it snows... Amazing machines!

  • All I have to say to that is to go to junk yards

  • she runs good for a old girl... its a long way from our snowblower... lol we use a newer (couple years old maybe) 13hp self propelled walk behind, with power chute, heated hand grips. had a big rock (like 8" wide by 14"-16" long and 2" inch thick) caught between the blades and the bottom.. it was a bitch trying to get the outta there.. have you ever seen llama shit go through a snowblower?? its like pebbles in a coffee can.. its friggin funny!!!
