Photoshop - Dramatic Lighting 3

Adobe Photoshop CS4 video demonstration. After separating the subject from the background, we quickly create a dramatic lighting effect using layer masks, gradients and the brush tool. The effect is rounded out by some filters and a Solid Color Fill used as a tint.

how did you get from layer 2 to layer 3

and how did u change the color for layer 2 and became black plus the selection pic that u picked..

I used the quick select tool to select her, then hit CTRL J to copy the selection to a new layer. On the original layer I hit ALt Backspace to fill it with the foreground color, which was black.

how do you get the Adjustments and Masks (density and feather) bar at the top right? I have cs3 and I really need the feather feature. Any idea?
