This is a personal tribute to the wonderful James McGee, who was killed tragically on his bike by a motorist on the
8th of June 2011. James owned very little, but shared with us all a most wonderful gift, which was his ability to play the violin with a skill, passion, humour and imagination such as I have never heard before. Thank you James McGee. We all miss you so much.
Nice one guys!

RIP. We'd natter about stupid shit and discuss music and ethics and just have a smoke together and moan about stuff. I'll miss this free-spirited legendary guy.

Not just Peter & the Wolf - went to a gig of his - he saw us in the audience and slipped every classical violin concerto there is into his improvisation! A kind man you were, Jim! Shocked to hear you're not with us any more!

I had the pleasure of playing with James and sharing swing violin tricks with each other a few years ago. James had a cool trick of quoting the Peter and the Wolf theme in any tune. I started doing it, and think of him whenever I do, and mention him to anyone who remarks on it. So, your memory and your playful, sweet approach to fiddling live on, James.
