La Boheme with José Carreras and Teresa Stratas act 3 cont'd

Although Rodolfo and Mimi now know that the end of their relation is in sight, they pretend to part in the right spirit. "Only when flowers are back again and the snow gone" they'll part. The two aria's are full of love and forgiveness and their contrast with Marcello and Musetta argueing is particularly striking.

I absolutely love José as rodolfo and Teresa as mimi. Now I've seen everything there is on you tube of their "la boheme" and want to see more. Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaase pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease upload some other arias pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa­aaaaaaaaaaase!!!!!

@Orfeo68, This Boheme also changed mine, for many many reasons. One of them, it was the very first time I heard and saw Carreras in my LIFE live at the Met. I didn't know who he was or even heard of him, and when I saw the photo in the program said to myself: he's handsome, hope he can sing.... Oh well, that's my anecdote.

There's no more affecting performance of this scene than what's between these two. Her 'senza rancor' at 3:29 is amazing! (I agree with Esceha57 that she was just incredible as Nedda also--unique interpretation and acting)The music in this act is my favorite in the opera...and it lies perfectly for Carreras. I saw so many live productions at the Met, and he's my favorite Rodolfo.

Teresa Stratas is nothing short of superb in this role and her acting (or rather the illusion that she is not acting at all!) is genius. I suspect that this would be a lot like seeing Callas in the role considering the tremendous emotional portrayal and expressive (if not always beautiful) singing.

With my reaction I don't make a parallel with Teresa Stratas, but I mean SHE IS, and I praise to the skies her acting talent and of couse her voice in La Traviata. The same amazing performance also in Pagliacci.

I think Stratas IS Mimi...she's so delicate, sweet and frail....and of course I love Carreras. I've seen a few versions of La Boheme both live and on DVD, and none of them compare to this version.

I like the acting (look to her face) as well as the voice of Teresa Stratas especially in the best film ever made of La Traviata. I've uploaded today the the last part of that film.
