Yeah :) I might be a Norfolk lad but I love Letchworth. That fountain has be photo so many time by me, it's a real nice feacher. but hay I love Norton common too, you've got soem great places there :)

It's quite a common technique, (in this context used as self deprecation), to highlight a particular aspect of a work by exagerating a contrast...in this case pointing out the youthful joy in the film and the genuine innocence behind it that is it's main charm.

erm...it's called irony...see, what I did was adopt the tone of the someone who disaproved:
"bunch of young layabouts, with nothing better to do than waste a summers day splashing in a fountain and making a spectacle of themselves!"
and then I undercut it with a revelation that I was actually jealous, and that my "disaproval" was in fact just sour grapes:
"anyone else sick with envy? people like these remind me that I'm an old fart ;-)"

bunch of young layabouts, with nothing better to do than waste a summers day splashing in a fountain and making a spectacle of themselves! anyone else sick with envy? people like these remind me that I'm an old fart ;-) (oh to be able to splash in a fountain without my kids rolling their eyes and dropping hints about retirement homes)

This is a nice little video based in my home town - this is what this web site is about, but there's so much trash to wade through. Very good effort to whoever put this together.
