Quick question Tim, Where did you get your home screen time/weather widget from? is that part of the cyanogen ROM?

It is called Weather Widget Donate and can be skinned (this is one of the available skins). It is a paid app in the market. There is a free version too.

got another question for you, i now actually HAVE my nexus one :) seems really nice although that matrix wallpaper takes up a large chunk of my battery life i noticed..
my question is this though.. i cannot seem to add phone numbers to the automatic facebook contacts it sync'd with.. do you know how i can do this or must i make new contacts just for their phone numbers? :\

Yeah the matrix wallpaper does seem a big battery drain, now I've been running it a while I found that is the case.
You should just be able to go into contacts and edit the contact. I don't have any that are from facebook (I only sync friends I already have in phone contacts) so I can't really help
